Hexagons June 11, 2015 – Posted in: Uncategorized

hexagonthoughtsI am hard at work doing my most favorite thing, designing new collections. I am still percolating through the inspirations I got from my trip to Iceland last summer. One of the new collections is  based on hexagons, which are a  current obsession of mine. Many cliffs on the coast  in Iceland are huge basalt formations, which are crystallized lava shaped in incredible hexagon patterns. Afterwards, I started noticing hexagons everywhere and I think they are the most beautiful shape.

I don’t have photos quite yet. But I here are some sketches. I actually used Illustrator to make them, which is something I haven’t done in a long time, I’m usually quite a Ludite. But it was fun to design on the computer knowing that the final product is going to be made completely by me and my hammers.
