Inspirations May 22, 2013 – Posted in: Uncategorized

It has been a while since I posted anything that I’ve been looking at to inspire my work lately. I have been dipping a toe into making bigger work. Mostly because I feel so uncomfortable with it. Since being out of school, there has been no one to push me out of my comfort zone, so I have to be my own critic and mentor. I have been thinking about the balance between sculpture and jewelry. Making work that is a little bigger really blurs those lines.

I love these tribal jewelry pieces as wall art. These are a great reminder for me of just how big I can go. One artist I’ve been in love with is Brandon Holschuh. He makes his own alloys, and his own displays for each piece, so that you can showcase each piece as a sculpture when you aren’t wearing it. tribaljewelrybrnadonholschuh
