winter and workshops February 26, 2015 – Posted in: Uncategorized

It is snowy outside and cozy tucked inside today. This has been the best Winter I have ever had. This is one of the pieces I just finished!

I am enjoying doing things alone and being a bit of a hermit. I have been going to yoga each day as a way to say hello to myself . It’s definitely a very inward introspective activity. and truly delightful! It has been so great to go deeper into yoga and learn new poses and information about my muscles…like that I have some!

I would like to take this sense of exploration and learning with me into the rest of the year. So I signed up for my first workshop at Penland School of Crafts! I will be taking a workshop with Kim Cridler who will be teaching on the use of line in steel. I love her work and how she takes this really tough metal and makes it look delicate. It will be in August, and I am looking forward to a week of being in the woods getting to think and learn a whole new material for me. This piece by Kim Cridler really speaks to Winter, and appropriately called “Home”.
